Oil excursions outside Florence

OLIVE TREES are an ever-present part of the Tuscan landscape. Some trees are 300 years old and have silently followed the history of mankind. This excursion takes you to the heart of the Tuscan oil kingdom - the hills around Impruneta, San Casciano, and Tavarnelle. Here the olives are still collected by hand with the help of tall wood ladders leaning against the olive branches. The oil is still stored in enormous terracotta brick jars manufactured in Impruneta. Oil excursions may be scheduled for any date with two days advance notice, and can be conducted in your language. Pick-up service from participant’s location can also be arranged.

The program

* 9:00 Departure from Florence or your location
* 10:00 Arrival in Impruneta, guided tour of the main square and handmade terracotta factory
* 12:00 Visit to the oil cellar and the terracotta jars in Torre Rossa farm
* 13:00 Lunch in Osteria Antica Sosta in Impruneta
* 15:30 Guided visit to La Querce farm

Price Half-day excursions (09:00-14:00 and 14:00-19:00) include: private air-conditioned minivan, guide in your language, and oil tasting. Day trips (09:00-18:00) include: private air-conditioned minivan, guide in your language, lunch and oil tastings.
